The figure above determines that 56.3% of the Restigouche’s Municipal Solid Waste was produced in the Atholville / Campbellton / Tide Head area. That percentage changes somewhat with the 5,684 ICI tonnes (37.4%), but the Campbellton area is still the region’s major waste generator. There was an increase of 73.13 tonnes at the Residential level, and a decrease of 162.35 tonnes at the ICI level. We saw an overall decrease of 89.22 tonnes (0.6%) if you compare these stats with the 2007 numbers. If you add the 421.21 tonnes of recyclables to the residential increase of 73.13 tonnes - it would bring the decrease totals to 348.08 tonnes (3.61%). At the residential level, Atholville had the biggest increase / capita (37.31 tonnes – an increase of 7.7%) while the Tide Head registered the biggest decrease / capita (130.21 tonnes – a decrease of 8.9%).
